Join Us – As a student

The Shared Ski Adventures (SSA) Program welcomes students of all abilities, ages 5 and up, to participate in the program at Swain Ski Resort. Each year the students in our program vary; we have students who are getting into ski boots for the very first time along with individuals who have participated in our program for several years and are working on fine-tuning their technique and gaining a greater level of independence.

All of our students benefit from a 2:1 instructor to student ratio. This level of personal attention is maintained not only for the student’s safety but also to foster an atmosphere of support and encouragement that will lead to increased self-confidence, self-esteem, and skill development for the student.

In 2008, SSA incorporated small group lessons into its program to support students who could ski independently and would benefit from skiing with a peer group to encourage socialization. This structure was even more successful than we had anticipated, resulting in strong friendships and increased motivation among the students to take their skiing to the next level. We will continue offering the small group lessons when we have an appropriate group of students enrolled in the SSA program.

Student Registration

Registration for the SSA Program is generally sent out to individuals who have expressed an interest in late October/early November. To add your name to the mailing list, contact Tina Bennett at CP Rochester.
